Youth On City and County Boards and Commissions
The Chase Youth Commission collaborates with City of Spokane and Spokane County government officials to create opportunities for youth to serve on city and county boards and commissions and assist in recruiting students to fill previously established youth positions. The Spokane region is one of the very few localities in the nation to provide numerous opportunities for youth to serve on decision-making boards. Inclusion of youth on boards and commissions is an integral part in creating a modern, vibrant, and innovative community in which to live. These opportunities provide youth perspective on a wide range of issues and give youth a voice in decisions that shape our entire community.
The Chase Youth Commission is currently recruiting for several open youth positions (below) on various City of Spokane and Spokane County Boards and Commissions. Applications are due to the Spokane Regional Youth Department (808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, WA 99201). For questions or more information, contact Joanne Benham, Youth Director, at 625-6440 or jbenham@spokanecity.org.
