On time graduation rates have hit an all time low in the United States.
In Spokane County, the on time graduation rate is 69 percent; meaning
one out of every three students will drop out of school.
The Regional Summit on Dropout Prevention is an
interactive forum to bring forth ideas to motivate kids to
stay in school. Panel discussions and breakout sessions
will focus on issues youth face today and ways to equip
students, parents, educators, business and community
members with knowledgeable information and resources
to prevent students from dropping out of high school.
Keynote speaker, Marguerite W. Kondracke, President and CEO of American’s Promise, will address the need to prepare youth for the real world and develop fundamental skills at a young age. She will also provide information on national movements to help improve the dropout rate.
