MIDDLE SCHOOL GROUP – COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

This past summer across the street from Shaw Middle School, a garage was “tagged” with gang related graffiti, not once but several times. The homeowners weren’t able to get to the repaint and before you know it, school had started. With two elementary schools in close proximity to Shaw, and the negative message that was being viewed by several hundred students on a daily basis, these two students decided to take action. Not wanting fellow students and community members to have to see this on a daily basis, these two individuals worked with community members to remove the graffiti.
