About the Youth Department

The Spokane Regional Youth Department is a joint City and County agency funded through an interlocal agreement.  The department resides in Room 609 at City Hall.  Office hours are 8am-5pm, M-F.  For questions, call 625-6440.

Meet the Staff

Joanne Benham, Director – A graduate of San Jose State University, her background is in education and youth development.  She has been the department director for 24 years.  Joanne serves as a liaison between Spokane and a number of state and national organizations such as the National League of Cities, America’s Promise, and the Washington Afterschool Network.  Her passions are building partnerships between individuals and organizations to better support young people and engaging youth in dialogue with policy makers.
